The Lavinia - hand painted fabric shade, base width 20cm

Original, hand painted tapered drum lampshade with my own design. Each lampshade is a one-off unique piece since I do not use templates or stencils, all my lampshades are painted freehand by myself. The lampshade features an original design made up of a flamboyant colourful hotch potch of Dahlias in vibrant shades of red, yellow ochre and pink .

I am inspired generally by the Arts and Crafts movement founded by William Morris as well as the Bloomsbury Group artists and the home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant at Charleston in Firle, Sussex which I have visited many times.

Please be aware that due to the hand painted nature of the lampshade, that when the light is switched on, the shade will have a "mottled" appearance due to the different amounts of paint on the lampshade. In my opinion, this adds to the beauty of a hand crafted piece. The images include one to show the light switched on.
