"Rosemary" - hand painted lampshade for a table lamp

The design was inspired by a recent trip to Rome, where the painted ceilings and walls of Renaissance Palazzos captivated me. I’ve echoed some of the most beautiful palettes I saw there to create this artisanal light shade.

My work draws heavily on the Arts and Crafts movement, especially the vision of William Morris, as well as the expressive, patterned interiors of the Bloomsbury Group and Charleston House in Sussex.

Due to the hand-painted nature of this shade, it takes on a softly mottled appearance when lit—adding to its charm and reinforcing its status as a unique, handcrafted piece of homeware.
