Fritillaria - a hand painted fabric lampshade, 25cm width base
Original, hand painted lampshade with my own design, inspired by my love for Spring and particularly Fritillaria, which I consider one of the most beautiful flowers for its shape, colour and sheet magnificence.
Each of my lampshades is a one-off. I can take commissions for multiple lampshades, but am unable to offer a subsequent matching shade to a completed order, as it will not be possible for me to remix the exact same paint colours that I use to paint the design. Please do contact me if you would like to discuss a commission.
The background colour is Little Green Paint's "Middle Buff"
I am inspired generally by the Arts and Crafts movement founded by William Morris as well as the Bloomsbury Group artists and the home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant at Charleston in Firle, Sussex which I have visited many times.
Please be aware that due to the hand painted nature of the lampshade, that when the light is switched on, the shade will have a "mottled" appearance due to the different amounts of paint on the lampshade. In my opinion, this adds to the beauty of a hand crafted piece. The images include one to show the light switched on.
