Bloomsbury Style Medium Size Lampshade
Original, hand painted lampshade with my own design. Each lampshade is a one-off. The background colour is Farrow and Ball's "Setting Plaster" which is described as a muted and chalky dusky pink - a neutral yet atmospheric colour. The lampshade features an original design made up of alternating leaves and flowers topped and tailed with a brick red painted trim.
I am inspired generally by the Arts and Crafts movement founded by William Morris as well as the Bloomsbury Group artists and the home of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant at Charleston in Firle, Sussex which I have visited many times.
Please be aware that due to the hand painted nature of the lampshade, that when the light is switched on, the shade will have a "mottled" appearance due to the different amounts of paint on the lampshade. In my opinion, this adds to the beauty of a hand crafted piece. The images include one to show the light switched on.
